Building Homes, Restoring Hope

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Akwa Ibom State, is dedicated to improving the living conditions of vulnerable individuals and communities through infrastructure support and development projects. A key initiative under this mandate is the Construction and Supervision of Compassionate Homes for the less privileged, displaced persons, and those in need of shelter and care.
Our Focus Areas
This initiative is aimed at providing safe and comfortable housing for the vulnerable, elderly, and physically challenged individuals across the state. Through this project, the Ministry seeks to create a supportive environment where everyone can live with dignity and security.
Key Interventions

Construction of Compassionate Homes in rural and urban communities.

Supervision and quality control to ensure durable and safe structures.

Provision of basic amenities and facilities to enhance comfort and well-being.

Rehabilitation and maintenance of abandoned shelter facilities.

Support for orphans, widows, and displaced individuals in need of shelter.

Impact Achieved So Far

174 Compassionate Homes successfully built and handed over to beneficiaries across various Local Government Areas.

Reduced homelessness and provided security for vulnerable individuals.

Improved living conditions for the elderly and physically challenged.

Strengthened community support systems and social inclusion.
