On February 24, 2025, Princess Emem Ibanga was sworn into the State Executive Council and appointed as the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry. Tasked with aligning state-level interventions with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the ministry is committed to fostering inclusive policies and impactful humanitarian initiatives.

Our Mandate
To align with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Ministry has the following as her mandate:
- To develop policies and initiatives that cater for timely and effective life-saving humanitarian responses.
- Coordinating State and National Humanitarian interventions.
- Formulation and implementation of fair, focused, and social inclusion as well as protection management in the State.
- Rehabilitation of physically challenged persons.
- Conflict resolution and management.
- Handling matters relating to destitute, displaced persons, and the elderly.
